Screening on Mother’s Day, this enchanting gem from writer/director Celine Schiamma (Portrait of a Lady on Fire) is a moving ode to mother-daughter love. After her grandmother dies, 8-year- old Nelly is taken to her mother’s childhood home. While exploring the surrounding woods Nelly encounters Marion, a girl exactly Nelly’s age and to whom she bears a striking resemblance. The pair become fast friends. Incrementally, the girls’ eerie similarities yield revelations that merge events of the past with those of the present. – “One of the finest filmmakers of our time spins a spellbinding magical web.” –  Cinevue
