Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas star as two egomaniacs commissioned by a millionaire to make a movie together in this sharp comedy skewering wealth, art, and pride. No part of the movie-making business is spared in this film, a smart and biting story about a millionaire who decides to secure his legacy by financing a film. Directed by Argentine duo Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn and starring Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz, the feature hilariously studies the relationships between a movie’s directors, actors and audience without compromising its comedic edge.
“A sly satire of cinema that also manages to be a showcase for the comedic chops of its stars: Penélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas and Oscar Martínez” – Washington Post
“Cruz is stunning to watch; equally enigmatic and expressive, desirable and absurd, her rendering of an iridescent Lola is what propels much of Official Competition” – LA Times
